Your data. Your choice.

Many free apps make money by selling your information or showing you ads. We don't do either, and we never will. As a nonprofit with no owners, we have no reason to.

What we collect

Only what each app needs to work: your email and a name or username for your account, the entries you create, and basic technical details like device type and crash reports. We don't collect your precise location, and we don't build advertising profiles. Care About You asks your permission before adding anything to your calendar.

Who can see your entries

Our team doesn't read your entries. The only exceptions are when you ask us for help with a support issue, when the law requires it, or when we need to investigate a security problem. Trusted service providers, like our cloud host, store information for us under written agreements that let them use it only to run our apps.

How we protect it

Your information is encrypted while it travels between your device and our servers. Access is limited to the few people who operate and support the apps.

About AI

Two apps use AI, and only when you ask. In Care About You, tapping for a suggestion sends the person's name, your notes, and your recent kindness history to our AI service provider. In Advocate's Compass, asking Advocate Now for a script sends what you type. Goal Getter and Beat the Craving don't use AI at all.

Sensitive information

Entries in Beat the Craving may relate to recovery, substance use, or emotional well-being. We treat them as sensitive and protect them that way.

Deleting your information

How we report our impact

When we tell funders and our Board how we're doing, we use only totals, like the number of people using our apps. We never share anyone's individual entries.

Age

Our apps are for people 13 and older. If you're under 18, please use them with a parent's or guardian's involvement.
